We Started With a Simple Question

Why does managing money feel harder than it should be for most people?

The Beginning of kerentivax

Back in 2019, I was sitting in a café in Canberra watching someone stress over their budget on a laptop. They had three spreadsheets open, a calculator, and looked completely overwhelmed. That's when it hit me—financial planning shouldn't require a finance degree.

We started kerentivax because we saw too many people avoiding their finances altogether. Not because they didn't care, but because the tools and advice out there made everything feel complicated and judgemental. Our first workshop had seven people. Now we work with hundreds across Australia, and the core idea hasn't changed: make financial planning feel approachable.

The name kerentivax came from thinking about what people actually want—not just numbers in order, but confidence in their financial kerentivax. Control over their decisions. Clarity about where they're going.

What We Actually Believe

Financial planning should reduce stress, not create it.

That's it, really. Everything we do comes back to that. We're not interested in making things look sophisticated or impressive. We're interested in whether someone leaves our program feeling less anxious about money than when they arrived.

How We Work With People

Start Where You Are

We don't care if your budget is a mess or if you've never tracked expenses. Everyone starts somewhere different. Our first step is always understanding your actual situation—not what you think it should be.

Focus on Your Goals

Budgeting for the sake of budgeting is boring. We help people connect their spending to things they actually want. That trip next year? The house deposit? Less stress about unexpected bills? Those become the reasons to pay attention.

Build Systems That Stick

Motivation fades. That's normal. So we focus on creating simple systems that work even when you're not feeling particularly motivated. Automated transfers, realistic spending categories, monthly check-ins that take ten minutes.

Adjust as Life Changes

Your financial plan shouldn't be something you set and forget. Jobs change, family situations shift, unexpected things happen. We teach people how to adjust their approach when life doesn't go according to plan.

Our Journey So Far

01

2019

First Workshop

Ran our first budgeting workshop with seven people in a community centre. Learned more from them than they probably learned from us.

02

2021

Program Expansion

Developed our six-week program structure after realizing one-off sessions weren't giving people enough support to build lasting habits.

03

2024

Digital Platform

Launched online tools so participants could access resources between sessions. Made follow-up support actually useful instead of just sending reminder emails.

What Comes Next

We're still figuring things out. Still learning from every person who comes through our programs. Our goal for 2025 is to help more people without losing the personal connection that makes this work. If you're in Canberra or anywhere in Australia and want to get your finances sorted without the overwhelm, let's talk.
